MUNA's Katie Gavin announces debut solo single, "aftertaste"
Katie Gavin, vocalist of MUNA, has announced her forthcoming debut solo single, "aftertaste".
After sharing a few teaser videos over the past couple of days, Katie Gavin took to her socials to announce the release. "hi here’s my announcement," she simply stated. "i’m releasing my first solo single ‘aftertaste’ on 7/23".
The track comes just after the two year anniversary of MUNA's self-titled third studio album. They recently released a live album in celebration. MUNA released their self-titled album in 2022, following the release of Saves the World (2019) and their 2017 debut, About U.
Multi-instrumentalist and producer Naomi McPherson is set to make their acting debut as Janis Ian in Jason Reitman’s forthcoming film SNL 1975.
The film pays homage to the first episode of Saturday Night Live aired in October 1975. Its host was George Carlin, and its musical guests were Billy Preston and Janis Ian. Jon Batiste will play Billy Preston as well as handling the film's score. The film is set to look at the behind-the-scenes moments before the first episode aired, and may feature McPherson singing Ian's songs “At Seventeen” and “In the Winter.”
