Most Things announce forthcoming debut album, Bigtime
Minimal rock duo Most Things have announced their forthcoming debut album, Bigtime, alongside the release of new single, "Head & Shoulder".
"Head & Shoulder is a song for my mum in part inspired by Wretch 32 and 2011. It’s mostly the note two frets above E played at different octaves. When I say drinking, I am thinking either King Charles I or tins from the co-op. It’s true that, at the end, if you listen, you can hear a train passing," explains lead-vocalist and bassist Tom.
"Bigtime is an album of songs played on bass and drums that were recorded in the same amount of time as it takes to hear them, except for the vocals, which took a while. It was recorded in Bermondsey whilst I lived on Caledonian Road, the music in one afternoon and the voice over many nights, so it has been the cause of plenty commuting," he continues on the album.
"The songs were written some years ago whilst living in Lewisham in the company of mythical people. Speaking generally, they seek universal meaning in very particular and personal conundrums. It took a long time to get to a place where it made sense, which ended up being a very simple place. It caused much dismay, solving the puzzle of it, which now, gladly, feels quite worthwhile. It means a lot to me, mostly good things."
