Mitski unveils new version of “Buffalo Replaced” for Spotify Singles series
In a new session for Spotify Singles, Mitski has unveiled a new version of "Buffalo Replaced", taken from her latest studio album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We.
Mitski recorded her Spotify Singles session in New York with Jeni Magaña on double bass and The Land producer Patrick Hyland on acoustic guitar. The performance also features a cover of “Coyote, My Little Brother” – the Peter Lafarge song made popular by Pete Seeger in the '60s.
Last year, Mitski revealed that she is writing the music and lyrics for a forthcoming musical stage production of The Queen’s Gambit – the 1983 Walter Tevis novel regained popularity in 2020 by being adapted into a popular Netflix show. Back in January, she shard a short film for La Blogothèque of “I’m Your Man”, which also features on her latest album.
