MGMT say new album "should be finished at some point this year"
MGMT have given an update on their new music, revealing that their next album "should be finished at some point this year."
Back in August last year, MGMT's Andrew VanWyngarden said their "drought ends this year." It's now 2023, but MGMT have shared another update after being confirmed to play Just Like Heaven Festival in Pasadena, California.
As well as saying their festival appearance will be "a unique MGMT performance…", MGMT wrote, "Furthermore, keep checking back in with us because we’ve been making some fun new recordings and have a fancy new album (LOL) that should be finished at some point this year, which is the year 2023."

MGMT haven't released new music since 2020's "As You Move Through The World". Their forthcoming album will follow 2018's Little Dark Age.
Although it's been a few years since new MGMT material, VanWyngarden has collaborated with Cola Boyy, and remixed songs by Soccer Mommy, Club Intl and more.
Andrew VanWyngarden's latest release was his "Slow To Remember" collaboration with Dan Drohan in October last year.
