Max Porter, Iko Niche and more to feature on The Vernon Spring's forthcoming album, Under a Familiar Sun
The Vernon Spring has announced the forthcoming album, Under a Familiar Sun, alongside the release of two singles – "The Breadline (feat. Max Porter)" and its companion "Requiem for Reem".
The album, produced and mixed predominantly in Beste’s studio, features contributions from several collaborators, including writer Max Porter. The poem featured on "The Breadline" sets the conceptual framework for the entire album, after the pair worked together on a piece in 2023.
Conversations over email grappled with “the gap between ourselves and the unspeakable pain of others in a world increasingly vacant of moral leadership” but resulted in a piece of music, described by Max as “bringing out something so much more abstract or prayer-like, a kind of quiet pleading half-message, like a voice-note to a ghost.”
