Lucia & The Best Boys share the new single "Burning Castles"
Lucia & The Best Boys has today shared a new single, "Burning Castles", which is the title-track from her forthcoming debut album.
One of the first songs written for the album, "Burning Castles" became a touchstone whilst recording at Black Bay Studio in the Outer Hebrides. “I wrote "Burning Castles" about the onslaught of emotions that your body goes through when you receive bad news; that sudden and overwhelming weight that bears down on you when the news hits you,” explains Lucia Fairfull.
“I love making something sound soft and graceful when the meaning and the experience that I’m writing about is pretty much the opposite. That sort of juxtaposition of the music and the lyrics is something that I’m prone to doing, but I think that it always manages to capture the way that I really feel in a way that makes sense to me.”
"Burning Castles" follows the previous singles, "So Sweet I Could Die", and "When You Dress Up".
Lucia & The Best Boys will perform for the first time at Reading & Leeds Festival later this month on the BBC Introducing Stage, after which she’s heading out on tour of the UK for a series of in-stores and shows, including a date at Lafayette in London.
"Burning Castles" is out now. Lucia & The Best Boys' debut album of the same name is set to arrive on 29 September via Communion.
