Lorde's sister Indy announces debut EP with new single "Hometown"
Lorde's younger sister Indy has announced her debut EP Threads, and has shared a new single titled "Hometown" to accompany the news.
In September last year Indy made her debut with her EP title-track "Threads", and followed it up in October with "Killer", and today (12 January) she's unveiled her first outing of 2023, "Hometown", which will also appear on her debut EP.
Indy Yelich says of the new single, ""Hometown" is about the memories from my teen years in suburbia that I’ll never forget. I wrote this song with Casey Smith, at Ryan Tedder’s house, sitting on the floor playing notes on the piano while the light streamed in."
"This song took me four years to finish, because I felt like the song was so important and I wanted to get it right," she adds. "I finished it with Miro Mackie and Daniel Chae and they really brought it back to life. This song is very nostalgic for me, as it makes me think of driving through the suburbs, taking the long way to go past an ex’s house. Returning from the big city and staying at your parents'."
Threads will also feature two new songs titled "Hero" and "Freeloader".
"Hometown" is out now. Indy will release her debut EP Threads on 17 February via TMWRK.
