Local Natives announce new album, But I'll Wait For You
Local Natives have announced their sixth studio album, But I’ll Wait For You, alongside the lead single, "April".
But I’ll Wait For You is a culmination of nearly two decades of brotherhood, and a mantra of reassurance in response to relentless changes. In a statement about the album Local Natives said, “But I’ll Wait For You is the companion piece to our 2023 release, Time Will Wait For No One. Maybe not an answer to a question but an exhale to an inhale. There is so little that’s in our control but among all this chaos, we can choose to be there for each other.”
Following the release of the band's fifth album, they shared an alternative version of the lead single "NYE", featuring Suki Waterhouse.
The accompanying cinematic video for "April" was inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s film The Conversation. Directed by Jon Chu, the one shot video culminates in a scene of the band performing a choreographed dance in LA’s Pershing Square.
