Liam Gallagher applauds AI created Oasis album
Over the weekend, an AI-generated album of lost Oasis songs was circulated online.
AISIS - The Lost Tapes is an album powered by AI-programmed vocals over original music of Hastings indie band Breezer. The group originally created the original music for themselves during lockdown in 2021, but decided to enlist AI technology to replace their singer with the voice of Liam Gallagher.
Fans took to Reddit to discuss their opinions on "The Lost Tapes" with one user saying: "I didn’t listen to the entire video, but from what I did hear, this feels like exactly what Oasis could and should’ve sounded like if Liam’s voice held up over the years and if the band made more of an effort to adopt modern and progressive sounds into the 2000s", whilst another user noted that this is "What the worlds been waiting for".
Earlier today, a fan tweeted Gallagher asking if he had heard the album and he mentioned that he had heard one song and it has got his seal of approval, noting that it's "Mad as fuck I sound mega".

This is the first of many AI-generated bodies of work to surface online.
A collaboration with Drake and The Weeknd went viral earlier this week. "Heart On My Sleeve" was quickly taken down by Universal Music Group as they said the project was “a breach of our agreements and a violation of copyright law”.
Meanwhile, in The Red Hand Files, Nick Cave went on a rant at how AI is destroying the pure art form of music. Specifically mentioning ChatGPT where someone had used the software to generate lyrics in his style. "Maybe A.I. can make a song that’s indistinguishable from what I can do. Maybe even a better song. But, to me, that doesn’t matter – that’s not what art is,” he said. “AI may very well save the world, but it can’t save our souls. That’s what true art is for."
In November 2022, Liam Gallagher released the Knebworth '22 documentary.
