Youth of the Apocalypse reveal new track "Drop The Bomb", featuring MF Doom
Members of Gorillaz and Klaxons invite MF Doom to rap over their euphoric offering "Drop The Bomb".
"Golden Skans" and "Clint Eastwood" seem far behind as Jeff Wootton (Gorillaz) and Jamie Reynolds (Klaxons) lead the creation of Youth of the Apocalypse.
First track "Drop The Bomb" sees the six collaborators invite rap legend MF Doom to lead the vocals, and showcases YOTA's wholesome sound.
The beat seems fitting for MF Doom, as the playful melody finds a more realistic backdrop compared to Doom's signature superhero/villain beats.
Speaking about the track's core, they describe it as, "Founded on frustration, punk ethics, a love of hip-hop / rap culture, alternative culture, graffiti and guerrilla tactics, YOTA is a youth movement, a gang, a fresh and immediate art form made of music, words and fashion.”
Wootton and Reynolds really nail the collaboration, and present a group who will dominate the summer months.
