Spotify has quietly introduced a new feature that allows you to avoid the artists you don't like.
Both personal and curated playlists will have the new feature, which allows you to mute artists you don't like... *cough* R. Kelly *cough*. Their music will only be played if you manually click on the track.
Billboard reports that the feature only appears to be accessible on the mobile app right now, but if you mute an artist on the mobile version, it'll still apply to your desktop player.
All you have to do is go to the specific artist page, click on their menu and press "Don't play this artist". To reverse it, simply head back to the same place and press "Remove".
In May 2018, Spotify removed all R. Kelly music from their editorial playlists under their Hate Content & Hateful Conduct policy.
The streaming service has been trying to monitor the music available on their service for the past few years, having removed neo-Nazi and white supremacist bands back in 2017.
