Will Joseph Cook announces debut album Sweet Dreamer, shares video for "Beach"
Will Joseph Cook announces debut album Sweet Dreamer for April, his largest headline tour to date to follow in May, and unveils the music video for "Beach".
Preceded by singles "Girls Like Me", "Take Me Dancing", and title track "Sweet Dreamer", Cook's first full length outing is set to build on the singer/songwriter's indie-pop offerings across its 13 tracks. As debut albums go, they're usually a work-in-progress from the moment a songwriter starts writing, and for Cook that journey began at the age of 14 with a love the off-kilter worlds of LCD Soundsystem and Vampire Weekend.
Thus far Cook has released two EPs, 2015's You Jump, I Run and Proof Enough, to critical acclaim and while only one track will make the leap onto the album, standouts like "Hearse" and "Streets Of Paris" still sound just as good. A reworked version of fan favourite "Beach" will appear on the collection alongside tracks produced by Cook himself, Hugh Worskett (Rae Morris, Crystal Fighters) and Bombay Bicycle Club's Jack Steadman. The re-release comes with a great music video which is well worth a watch.
New tracks like long-time live favourite "Alive" are expected to remain staples on the album tour which sees Will Joseph Cook play his largest headline venues including a show at London's Heaven. The dates are as follows and tickets will be available from 23 February.
