Watch Conor Oberst introduce himself as a production assistant on Meet The CONAN Staff
New web series Meet The CONAN Staff have uploaded a hilarious introduction clip for their new "production assistant" Conor Oberst.
Oberst stars in the new web series alongside Better Oblivion Community Center bandmate Phoebe Bridgers.
Explaining his decision to become a "production assistant" in a new clip posted by Rolling Stone, Oberst says, "Well, I sort of stumbled into the role of being the voice of the emo and indie rock movement. But that was just to pay the bills. Really, I wanted to break into late-night television production. I guess you could say I’m the Happy Gilmore of emo."
Throughout the clip Oberst breaks into song and receives constant criticism from his colleagues, while Bridgers acts as the cool production assistant and has people smiling with her singing.
The sarcastic clip sees Oberst talk about how the CONAN staff treat him, "Everyone at Conan is super understanding and really trying to help me."
He adds, "Everyone here is really constructive. No I don't miss my old music career with all the adoring fans and glowing reviews. I love being a PA."
When Bridgers is asked about her production assistant job, she replies, "Yeah, I’ll probably do this for a while. But it’s kind of a bullshit job."
