WARMLAND unveil new single "Further" ahead of debut album release tomorrow
Icelandic duo WARMLAND have unveiled their new single "Further" a day before their debut album Unison Love arrives.
"Further" arrives with a stunning video directed by the duo, and was shot in the Icelandic Highlands.
Hrafn Thoroddsen says of the single and video, "We braved high winds, dust storms and frigid cold while shooting and shed one tear (each) but smiled through the process due to the beauty of the landscape. "Further" is about distance and distance between people especially so we wanted to illustrate this with the vastness of the surroundings. Vistas of endless sands and gravel, where we are gliding in and out of view, drifting further."
The duo's debut album Unison Love was recorded over 18 months at a studio in Reykjavík that the musicians share.
"We’ve known each other for 10 years," explains Arnar Guðjónsson, "and there’s always been a discussion: should we do something together? We share the same studio – Hrafn has the days, I have the nights."
Thoroddsen says of their record, "We are trying to do some really good pop songs, but we also didn’t want to have any boundaries."
Guðjónsson adds, "I think our music is cinematic. There is a visual side to it. It all plays together. It’s all done in-house. We do the videos, we do the music, and we programme the lights. We have full control."
