Vaults share new video for “Poison”
Vaults have gone all avant-garde with their latest video, for the track “Poison” from their Vultures EP released late last year.
The clip is a collaborative effort between frontwoman Blythe Pepino and her brother, filmmaker and director Matthew Hart. Scenes of Pepino submerged in a bath are juxtaposed with disorienting and texture-rich shots of black paint swirls and water droplets. A grizzled love interest also appears periodically, but the video’s muted colour palette makes the pair’s interactions seem troubled rather than passionate.
According to Pepino, the video “explores the thin line in human relationships between connection and possession, care and destruction.”
Vaults will be playing a headlining show at London’s Village Underground on 11 March. Have a peek at the “Poison” video below.
