The first teaser trailer for The Weeknd's forthcoming HBO series The Idol co-written with Euphoria's Sam Levinson has been released, and stars Troye Sivan and BLACKPINK's Jennie.

The one-and-a-half-minute teaser trailer for The Idol was unveiled over the weekend, and shows Lily Rose-Depp in her role as a female pop singer. The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, also stars in the teaser for the "sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood" alongside Troye Sivan, BLACKPINK's Jennie, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe and more.

The Idol will follow a female pop singer who gets romantically involved with an LA club owner who is also the leader of a secret cult. The series is co-written and co-created by Euphoria's Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim.

Earlier this month Oneohtrix Point Never remixed The Weeknd's Dawn FM title-track "Dawn FM".

The Idol is yet to get a release date, but is "coming soon to HBO Max".
