Thom Yorke shares new solo song "5.17"
Thom Yorke has released a new track titled "5.17" that was written for Peaky Blinders series six.
Last month it was reported that Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood had made new music for the new series of Peaky Blinders, and yesterday (13 March) one of Thom Yorke's tracks, titled "5.17" was released.
Pitchfork reports that "5.17" is listed alongside another track titled "That’s How Horses Are" on Apple Music, which has a release date of 2 April.
Peaky Blinders director Anthony Byrne said of Yorke and Greenwood's music for the series last month, "The music has always been really important historically, and I was really keen to bring a dramatic score into it. We’re using that much more in this season. It’s a much heavier season so the score is taking things in a very different direction."
The duo have recently been releasing music with Sons of Kemet's Tom Skinner as The Smile. Their debut single "You Will Never Work In Television Again" landed in January, and a second single titled "The Smoke" arrived a few weeks later.
