The posters teasing "Weird Goodbyes" were spotted around Brooklyn over the weekend. It's currently unknown when The National plan to release the song, but it'll mark their first collaboration with Bon Iver since Justin Vernon contributed vocals to Taylor Swift's Evermore album title-track which is produced by The National's Aaron Dessner.

Stereogum reports that "Weird Goodbyes" was previously referred to as "Bathwater", which they've been playing live throughout the summer.
Back in March, Bryce Dessner gave an update on The National's follow-up to 2019's I Am Easy To Find album, saying it "kind of feels back to the classic National sound in a way, which was really just the five of us, and it has a lot of energy in it. Maybe it’s like bursting out of the closed doors of Covid or something? I don’t know."
