The Great Escape 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus

Brighton's multi-venue festival The Great Escape has been cancelled following health concerns over the outbreak of coronavirus.

To try and minimise the spread of coronavirus, Brighton's The Great Escape festival has decided to cancel its 2020 event.

Nasty Cherry, Phoebe Green, JAY1, Arlo Parks, Happyness, Porches, Ghostpoet, The Jezabels' Hayley Mary, Dana Gavanski, Shygirl, and many others were due to perform at the festival in May.

The festival confirmed the cancellation this afternoon in a statement, writing, "We’ve not taken this decision lightly. Taking into account that we are only a few weeks out from the event, and the current status of things, this was the best decision for fans, artists, staff and the community." The Great Escape 2020 was due to take place in Brighton from 13-16 May. The festival will return on 12-15 May 2021. Visit greatescapefestival.com for more information about the cancellation.
