The Flaming Lips reschedule two-night New Year's Underground Celebration due to Omicron
The Flaming Lips have rescheduled their upcoming two-night New Year's Eve shows in Tennessee due to a surge in Omicron cases.
Tomorrow (30 December) The Flaming Lips were due to play two nights at The Caverns in Tennessee as part of the New Year's Underground Celebration, but earlier this week the shows were rescheduled to 19 and 20 February 2022 following "the surge in COVID-19 infections due to the Omicron variant."
The Flaming Lips and The Caverns wrote that the decision to reschedule the shows was a "very difficult" one, and "all packages and tickets will be honored for the new dates."
"Everyone's health and safety is the utmost importance and we're heartbroken to deliver this news," the statement concluded.
Update on NYE with @theflaminglips in The Caverns. In response to surging cases of Covid-19 infections due to Omicron, the shows are moving to President's Day weekend, 2/19 & 2/20. It will still be a New Year's celebration of epic proportions! (Like you, we're heartbroken) pic.twitter.com/MRctLgUNNY
