The Besnard Lakes announce first album in nearly five years with lead cut "Raindrops"
The Besnard Lakes have returned with news of their first album in nearly five years, The Besnard Lakes Are The Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings, and have unveiled "Raindrops" as the lead release from the LP.
Hazy new single "Raindrops" is the Canadian group's first new music since their 2017 tracks "Laura Lee" and "The Divine Wind".
The band says of the song and video (shot by Joseph Yarmush), "This song and video details a psychedelic flight through the mind while deep in an altered state. The song lyrically references the death of Mark Hollis from Talk Talk ("Garden of Eden spirited") and also describes the idea of evolution determining the story of the Garden of Eden."
The Besnard Lakes Are The Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings will be their first LP since 2016's A Coliseum Complex Museum.
