The Avalanches planning new album already: "Next year? It’s definitely soon..."
Australian outfit The Avalanches made us wait a long 16 years between debut Since I Left You and last year's follow up Wildflower.
But now, in a new interview with Sydney station FBI Radio, the plunderphonics specialists confirmed the wait for their next LP would be considerably shorter.
"In the few weeks since we’ve been home from the States, me and Tony [Di Blasi] have just been writing," says the band's Robbie Chater. "It’s flowing so quickly. I think getting Wildflower out of the way and following up Since I Left You feels like a weight’s been lifted. The [new] music is really light, it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done... [we have] eight songs we’re playing to the label on Monday. Who knows when? Next year? It’s definitely soon."
