The Avalanches are working on a new record, and hopefully it'll be out before 2033
The Avalanches took 16 years to follow 2000 debut Since I Left You with last year's Wildflower, but hopefully their third LP will take nowhere near as long.
The Australian outfit officially began work on their third record today, revealing the news on Instagram alongside a picture of some rather full vinyl crates.
A few months ago The Avalanches said that the album would be "definitely soon" - although nothing specific has actually been given at this stage.
"In the few weeks since we’ve been home from the States, me and Tony [Di Blasi] have just been writing," said the band's Robbie Chater in a new interview with Sydney station FBI Radio. "It’s flowing so quickly. I think getting Wildflower out of the way and following up Since I Left You feels like a weight’s been lifted. The [new] music is really light, it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done... [we have] eight songs we’re playing to the label on Monday. Who knows when? Next year? It’s definitely soon."
