Taylor Swift has claimed the top spot in the iTunes Canada chart with eight seconds of static, dubbed "Track 3". Perhaps Swift is aiming to give Aphex Twin a run for his money.
Slate reports that it's a snippet of a new track.
Presumably it's a marketing ploy, but still - how many people have got the eight seconds of white noise stashed in their iPhones now? That's gonna be a bugger on shuffle.
Taylor Swift is currently thundering along a marketing campaign for her 1989 album, set to drop this month. Yesterday (21 October), she released the latest track and album opener "Welcome To New York".
