Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine announce collaborative album based on films
Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine have announced their new collaborative album A Beginner’s Mind with two lead singles, "Reach Out" and "Olympus".
"Reach Out" and "Olympus" are the first tasters of Stevens and Augustine's collaborative album, which includes songs that are loosely based around films they watched together while at a friend's house in upstate New York for a month-long songwriting break.
According to a press release, A Beginner's Mind was created in tandem, with one person writing a verse, the other creating a chorus, and both working on the instrumentation.
The album marks Stevens' first outing since his May five-volume album Convocations, and will follow Augustine's 2019 album Tomb.
