Sturgill Simpson shares "Sugar Daddy" from new HBO series Vinyl

Sturgill Simpson has revealed his first new material since inking a major label deal with Atlantic Records. "Sugar Daddy" sees Simpson take a side step from his country roots, adopting a more muscular sound: his Nashville lilt swapped in favour of a heavy blues swagger.

The theme song to the new HBO seies Vinyl (created by Mick Jagger and Martin Scorcese), "Sugar Daddy" follows on from 2014's critically lauded Metamodern Sounds In Country Music - a record that shot Simpson from relative obscurity to genuine contender of Country's next big thing.

Vinyl - a drama depicting the music industry in the 70s - premieres this Sunday, February 14 on HBO.

Metamodern Sounds In Country Music is out now via Loose Music. Further news on Sturgill Simpson's major label debut expected soon.
