Sparks announce new record Hippopotamus, share title track
Pop stalwarts Sparks have announced new record Hippopotamus, shared the lead single/title track, and detailed a grand run of live dates.
Brothers Ron and Russell Mael recorded the album in Los Angeles, which was previewed in part at their recent show as part of the BBC 6 Music Festival in Glasgow.
The album follows 2009's The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman, plus their recent-ish festive tune, and acclaimed collaboration with Scottish art-rockers Franz Ferdinand, FFS.
In related news, it was revealed this month that Sparks would be writing music for a musical film directed by French director Leos Carax (who has a guest turn on their new LP) and starring both Rihanna and Adam Driver.
