Source says Coachella 2021 postponement decision hasn't been made yet
A source at Goldenvoice has reportedly revealed that Coachella organisers haven't reached a decision about postponing next year's festival to October.
On Tuesday (7 October), Rolling Stone reported that sources that have been in contact with promoters AEG and Goldenvoice have been asked to prepare for the festival to reschedule for autumn 2021.
One source (who reportedly works at a major talent agency) told the publication that the festival is "100% moving", and added, "Frankly, they were supposed to announce [the change] over Labor Day. They hadn’t. And they were supposed to announce at the end of September - they hadn’t."
Billboard published a new article yesterday (8 October) countering the above statement, after a source at Goldenvoice told the publication that the postponement of next year's festival from April to October hasn't been set in stone.
The source apparently told Billboard that there may have been confusion which led to the postponement reports. According to the source, the contracts for artists playing the festival reportedly features a note that if the April dates have to be postponed, the festival will move to October.
Coachella's 2021 dates are due to be confirmed sometime after the 3 November Election Day, before the end of the year.
