Snoop Dogg slams people giving Tekashi 6ix9ine attention following his early release from prison
Snoop Dogg has expressed his disappointment of people giving controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine attention with his new music following his early release from prison.
Last Friday (8 May), Tekashi 6ix9ine, who was sentenced to two years in prison in December 2019, released his new single "GOOBA" - his first new music since being released from prison early following concerns over coronavirus.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was serving a two-year sentence for racketeering, carrying a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy murder charges, and was released last month due to concerns for his health and the coronavirus pandemic, meaning he can serve the remainder of his sentence from home.
The rapper's comeback single broke a YouTube record upon its release, gaining over 43 million views in the first 24 hours, making it the most-viewed hip-hop video in 24 hours in YouTube history.
However, not everyone is celebrating his return, and Snoop Dogg is one of them. He made his feelings known about the New York rapper on Instagram over the weekend. TIDAL's chief content officer, Elliott Wilson, posted a screenshot of 6ix9ine's new song, resulting in the hip-hop legend writing, "They gotta stop pushing this [rat]. All these media outlets making snitching cool. I'm old school. Fuck 69 and everybody pushing his line right now all New York GZ feel me on this and if you don't fuck u2."
Meek Mill, who has also had a public feud with 6ix9ine, made his feelings known on Wilson's Instagram post too, writing, "And Elliot is my friend!! Lol."
