Sky Ferreira shares new "Omanko" video
Alt. pop singer/songwriter Sky Ferreira has unveiled her new video "Omanko", mostly shot by Zachary Cole Smith of DIIV, her partner.
Speaking about the clip - pointedly not an official video - Ferreira told her Twitter legions that she also had grand visual plans for Night Time, My Time. She also made a few good, if a bit cynical, remarks about the process of pop videos, which you can read below, before the "Omanko" visuals.
The Omanko video was just ton of footage @DIIV & I made (originally without any intention of making anything out of it).U know...for fun?!

I originally planned on making official videos for most of the songs on the record...but...
— Sky Ferreira (@skyferreira) December 20, 2014
I could never get the budget I needed in order to make the videos that I wanted to make. It's all or nothing.
— Sky Ferreira (@skyferreira) December 20, 2014
It's a shame. Because labels/managers etc don't think it's necessary unless it's a single.

When it comes to singles (specifically pop music). They think single=radio=maybe music video if it gets on radio.
— Sky Ferreira (@skyferreira) December 20, 2014
...and you can't get on the radio if nobody is promoting you.
— Sky Ferreira (@skyferreira) December 20, 2014
All of the videos for Night Time,My Time were either paid by me,sponsored, or were miracles made by @grant_singer
— Sky Ferreira (@skyferreira) December 20, 2014
That's why I don't understand why people get angry about product placement in music videos. If it's done tastefully.
