Silk Sonic push back debut album release to January 2022
Silk Sonic, the collaborative project of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars, have announced that their debut album An Evening With Silk Sonic has been pushed back until January 2022.
So far Silk Sonic have released two singles, last month's "Skate" and their March debut outing "Leave the Door Open", and while fans were expecting their debut album An Evening With Silk Sonic later this year, Rolling Stone reports that their album has now been pushed back until January next year.
The piece states that the album delay was decided by .Paak and Mars because they want to put out more songs before the album and allow them to have time to breathe. Mars said, "I don’t want to be binge-watched."
Speaking about the progress on the album, Mars said, "We’re really in touch-up mode now. We’ve got the bones of most of the album, so it’s really about touching up parts that need a little more...Grease."
.Paak added, "Which could mean redoing the song from scratch!"
