Shamir teases cover of Billie Eilish's "Ocean Eyes" landing later this month
Shamir has revealed that he's releasing a "haunted emo shoegaze rock" cover of Billie Eilish's "Ocean Eyes" later this month.
Shamir announced this afternoon (9 February) that his cover of Eilish's debut single "Ocean Eyes" will be arriving later this month, marking Shamir's first outing since releasing his Shamir album in October last year.
"Ocean Eyes", originally released in 2016, featured on Eilish's debut EP Don't Smile at Me.
Shamir shared a brief teaser of his cover on socials, and revealed on Instagram that his cover will be a "haunted emo shoegaze rock" version of Eilish's soothing original. The full Instagram caption reads, "Have you ever said to yourself "I love "Ocean Eyes" by Billie Eilish but I wish it was a haunted emo shoegaze rock song"? Well come 2/23 I got you! Presave link in bio."
