Shamir releases new single "Gay Agenda"
Shamir has released his new single "Gay Agenda", which he says is about "radical acceptance internally and externally".
"Gay Agenda" follows Shamir's appearance on Oberhofer's "SUNSHiiNE" with The Strokes' Nick Valensi last week, and is accompanied by a Jenny He-directed video.
Shamir says of the Hollow Comet-produced song, ""Gay Agenda" is a song about radical acceptance internally and externally. We are only leasing our lives, so we gotta make it our own."
On top of collaborating with Oberhofer this year, Shamir has covered Laura Veirs' "Where Gravity Is Dead", released his debut book But I'm a Painter, and covered other songs by Olivia Rodrigo, Sharon Van Etten, The Cure and Billie Eilish.
It's been just over a year since Shamir released his self-titled seventh album.
