RZA wants Raekwon on the new Wu-Tang Clan album
Following news last week that Raekwon has taken a self-imposed strike from the Wu-Tang Clan, the group’s de-facto leader RZA has now come out urging the exiled member back into the fold.
Raekwon criticised RZA’s production on their new LP A Better Tomorrow, as well as hinting that others members are uneasy with current plans. Now, RZA has opened up about matters to Hot 97.
“When you form Voltron, you need every piece,” he told the station. “We need him there. I want him there. I asked him over and over to be there.”
“We did speak six, seven days ago and he gave me his demands, which we presented to the company,” RZA continued. “If they can be reached, they can be reached. If they can’t, they can’t. And if they can’t, then we got to reevaluate what we’re going to do.”
A Better Tomorrow is expected later this year, along with the very limited-edition record Once Upon A Time In Shaolin.
