Rob da Bank responds to claims that Bestival 2019 is cancelled
Bestival founder Rob da Bank has responded to reports that the 2019 festival won't be going ahead.
After going into administration last year, Bestival has faced an uncertain future, with reports having emerged of outstanding payments to artists from the 2018 edition of the festival.
Yesterday ITV reported that the festival had been axed for this year, with Dorset Police still waiting on payments from Bestival and Camp Bestival.
A spokesperson for the Dorset Police said, "The payment of our 2018 policing services invoice, totalling £141,176 to cover our policing of both Camp Bestival and Bestival is still outstanding. We’ve not received any full or part payment towards this."
They added, "Some time ago we were informed by the new event owners that there are no plans to run a Bestival 2019 event."
Following the report, Rob da Bank has responded on Twitter, "there are some very odd and frankly completely fabricated and totally untrue stories circulating right now ...watch this space".
