Red Cross team up Kindness, Scroobius Pip and more with refugees for real-life survival stories LP

Red Cross have enlisted Kindness, Scroobius Pip, the Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars, and more to create an album based on real-life refugee survivor stories.

Each artist has been paired with a refugee in order to turn their hauntingly true stories into music.

The Long Road album will be produced by Brit Award winner Ethan Johns.

Kindness' Adam Bainbridge approached the Red Cross when he heard about the project. Speaking of its importance, he said "I’ve seen with my own eyes that anyone’s life can be turned upside down overnight; that expressing an opinion can be enough to make life unliveable in the place you call home, and eventually force you to leave it. So when I was told about the project, I had to be involved."

Want to be involved? The Red Cross are inviting you to share pictures celebrating the contibutions of refugees in the UK on social networks - using the hashtag #TheLongRoadEP - for collation and use on the album artwork. Further information can be found here.

The Long Road announcement marks the start of 2015's Refugee Week (15-21 June). The week aims to "celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and promote better understanding of why people seek safety."
