Record Store Day set date for 2013

This year’s leg of the annual international Record Store Day will take place on Saturday 20 April.

The day aims to celebrate physical music, with many special and limited-edition releases distributed especially for the event.

Last year saw 230 shops sell 450 limited edition releases, with an overall boost of 50% from the year prior in vinyl alone.

It was confirmed as the “most successful to date”.

This year will be the event’s sixth outing since starting out in 2008.
