Quebec's FME to host Half Moon Run, The 5, 6, 7, 8s and ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead
Taking over the city of Rouyn-Noranda for three days of international big-hitters and local bubblers, Canada's FME has announced its final line-up for this year's festival.
Alt rockers … And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Broken Social Scene's La Force, rockabilly punks The 5, 6, 7, 8s and indie darlings Half Moon Run are billed to headline the 17th edition, alongside scores of emerging talent from the surrounding region.
FME (Festival de musique émergente) takes place across multiple venues in Rouyn-Noranda – theatres, pubs, clubs, cafes, galleries and outdoor stages – and also plays host to a formidable roster of Canadian artists. This year, organisers have announced performances from breakout emcee Loud, ethereal songstress Jeanna Added, powerhouse rap collective Alaclair Ensemble, thumping psych-rockers Lesser Evil and feel-good popsters HEARTSTREETS. Alongside the tunes, punters will have a chance to dip their toes 360° videos, augmented reality and retro videogame worlds, in an interactive VR garden.
Attendees can buy individual tickets for specific performances or pick up a 'Passport' which entitles them to attend a number of shows across the three-day event. More information about tickets, transport and accommodation can be found on the FME website.
