Prince removes his music all from streaming services except Tidal
Tidal has claimed a hefty exclusive: Prince.
Jay-Z's fledgling streaming service, spluttering and stalling before really getting a real chance at life, has had trouble luring consumers with its exclusives so far - including offerings rom Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj, but this one might turn a few heads.
On Spotify, a message of Prince's profile page reads: "Prince's publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalog. We have cooperated with the request and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible."
It's unclear just why Prince has yoinked his noises from everywhere else (or why he does much of what he does, for that matter), but with the legendary artist now throwing his weight behind Tidal, Apple Music might not be the death knell people had assumed. The war continues.
Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL's PLECTRUMELECTRUM and Prince's solo record ART OFFICIAL AGE are both available via Warner now.
