The Prince Estate announce unreleased Prince album on what would've been his 60th birthday
The Prince Estate have teamed up with Warner Bros. Records to announce the unreleased Piano & A Microphone 1983 album on what would've been his 60th birthday.
After a series of unreleased tracks that surfaced last year, the Prince Estate have decided to reveal an unreleased album, Piano & A Microphone 1983.
Spanning nine tracks, the 35-minute album was originally a home studio cassette recording of Prince at his piano, captured in 1983.
The unreleased album will also feature a rare recording of “Mary Don’t You Weep”, and a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case Of You”.
Prince Estate entertainment adviser Troy Carter explained, “This raw, intimate recording, which took place at the start of Prince’s career right before he achieved international stardom, is similar in format to the Piano & A Microphone Tour that he ended his career with in 2016. The Estate is excited to be able to give fans a glimpse of his evolution and show how his career ultimately came full circle with just him and his piano.”
