Crowdfunding site PledgeMusic has gone into liquidation, which could result in artists and fans losing money they used on the site.
Back in January, PledgeMusic accepted responsibility for a backlog on payments to artists and fans. Co-founder Benji Rogers revealed in May that the company was heading into administration after failing to find a third party investor.
Yesterday (5 August), PledgeMusic wrote on Twitter, "A winding up order was made against Pledgemusic.com Limited in the High Court of Justice on 31 July 2019. The Official Receiver is now liquidator of the company. Any enquiries should be sent to londonB.OR@insolvency.gov.uk, quoting reference LQD5671373."

Last month punk rock group L7 revealed they had been affected by PledgeMusic after their latest album Scatter The Rats was crowdfunded through PledgeMusic. L7 managed to distribute the records to customers from PledgeMusic with the help of Joan Jett and Blackheart Records, and wrote on Facebook, "We do not wish to further comment on this situation as we do not want to be the face of being screwed over. L7 are bigger and mightier than this mess. The only time we will speak of this again will be in a courtroom."
