Pinegrove react to US election in new tour video
Montclair oufit Pinegrove have shared a tour video from their first week on the road with on the road with Kevin Devine, Julien Baker, and Petal, discussing reactions to the US election.
A live rendition of "Visiting" recorded live at Chop Suey in Seattle is the backdrop to footage of the band performing, prepping, and posing as they travel across the country together. There's even a cameo from an adorable security dog. But it's not all fun and hijinks.
"Of course, that week & every one since has been about a lot more than just music," Pinegrove state. "It's pretty surreal to re-watch kenna's footage from the show on election night." Cue footage of the band "just drinking and crying and watching the returns" as the result rolls in.
"I think that it is very important for us to express communion right now and to love each other the best that we can," frontman Evan Stephens Hall says to his audience. "We have a tonne of fucking work to do don't we? We are here today to reaffirm that we believe in compassion, in equality, and in love. We do not respond to hate."
"Thank you for being here and thank you for your support in this hard time," he addresses the room the next day. "Let's get them."
