Phoebe Bridgers links with Jackson Browne on new version of "Kyoto"
Phoebe Bridgers has shared two tracks for Spotify's Singles series, one of which is a new version of "Kyoto" featuring Jackson Browne, and the other is a cover of John Prine's "Summer's End".
"Kyoto" originally featured on Bridgers' second album Punisher that landed last summer, and earned Bridgers two 2021 Grammy nominations - Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance.
Today (9 March), Bridgers has unveiled a stripped back version of "Kyoto" that sees her duet with Jackson Browne as part of the Spotify Singles series.
Bridgers also released a second track - a cover of the late John Prine's "Summer's End" (which she first covered during a livestream set for Pitchfork in April 2020), which features backing vocals from Maria Taylor.
As well as being nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance with "Kyoto" at this year's Grammys (which takes place this weekend), Bridgers is also up for Best New Artist and her Punisher album is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album.
