Pharoah Sanders, Floating Points and London Symphony Orchestra announce collaborative album
Pharoah Sanders, Floating Points and London Symphony Orchestra have announced their collaborative album Promises, which will mark Sanders' first new material in over a decade.
Promises will be made up of nine pieces, and will mark the first new music from jazz saxophone legend Sanders in more than a decade.
Sanders collaborated with Floating Points, real name Sam Shepherd, and the London Symphony Orchestra on Promises, and has shared a brief trailer for the album.
The collaborative album also includes artwork by Julie Mehretu.
Shepherd released his latest Floating Points album Crush in October 2019, and last November he remixed Thundercat’s Mac Miller tribute song "Fair Chance".
