Back in February, Pet Shop Boys returned with their "satirical" EP Agenda, which was based around topics of "what is happening now".

Now the duo have updated fans on their next record, which will be their first since 2016's Super.

Pet Shop Boys wrote on Twitter, "Stuart Price and friend taking a break from finishing mixing our new album. (It’s being delivered to Kobalt next month for release in January. Full details in due course.)"

They were previously aiming to release their new album in autumn.

Pet Shop Boys play BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park on 15 September. Find out more.
