Perfume Genius quietly releases three new songs online
Perfume Genius has covertly uploaded three new songs onto his YouTube account, with the latest - "Onscreen" - emerging mere hours ago.
The pared-back numbers, all of which come paired with NSFW videos featuring retro softcore porn, are miles away from the searing stomp of latest LP No Shape and show off the more introspective side of Perfume Genius. These are dark, minimalist excursions with ominous overtones.
As well as "Onscreen", Mike Hadreas has lifted the lid on "Lulla" and "Jory".
We're not quite sure what these are for - perhaps bonus tracks on a deluxe edition of No Shape? Or a new EP? Or something for Record Store Day? - but it's exciting to have more Perfume Genius material already.
