Nouvelle Vague announce new album I Could Be Happy, share Cocteau Twins cover
Nouvelle Vague have announced new album I Could Be Happy and detailed a pair of dates in England and Ireland.
The fondly followed French outfit, famed for new wave/bossanova versions of punk/post-punk tracks, will also be releasing a new EP in September titled Athol-Brose featuring "a mixture of covers, remixes, and original material" and vocalists Liset Alea and Élodie Frégé. As well as a cover of Cocteau Twins' "Athol-Brose" there'll be a remix of their "Love Will Tear Us Apart" cover by Dream Koala.
Athol-Brose is out 2 September via Kwaidan. I Could Be Happy doesn't yet have a release date but when it arrives it'll follow 2010 record Couleurs sur Paris.
Nouvelle Vague are set to play London's Forum on 15 November and Vicar Street in Dublin the day after.
As well as all this, Nouvelle Vague recently announced that their first three records are now on Spotify. That's summer sorted, then.
