Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video passes one billion views on YouTube
On Christmas Day (25 December), Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video reached one billion views on YouTube.
"Smellt Like Teen Spirit" was released in 1991 and featured on Nirvana's second album Nevermind.
On Christmas Day, the music video for the song passed one billion views. It took the video 10 years and six months to reach one billion views, after being uploaded on 16 June 2009.
Nirvana's bassist Krist Novoselic thanked fans via Twitter on Boxing Day for reaching the milestone.

According to NME, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is the second most-viewed music video from the '90s, after Guns N' Roses' "November Rain", which currently has over 1.2 billion views.
