Nadia Rose, Nonku Phiri, and Kwame confirmed as mentors for Nando’s Music Exchange 2019
The mentors for this year's Nando's Music Exchange have been announced, including Nadia Rose, Nonku Phiri, and Kwame.
Nadia Rose, who has her own rapping career and is a cousin of Stormzy, will be joined by other mentors including South African vocalist and producer Nonku Phiri, and Australian rapper Kwame.
Speaking about being a mentor for this year's workshop, Nadia Rose says, "I’ve been lucky enough to be surrounded by talented musicians from an early age and receive mentorship from my cousin Stormzy as well as Rihanna, which really helped shape my musical vision. I’m really excited to take part in this year’s Nando’s Music Exchange and offer mentorship to the next generation of potential artists. Programmes like this are so important to young people, and I hope to provide some wisdom and insight into the music industry from my own personal experiences."
40 students aged between 18-25 will be chosen from the UK, South Africa, and Australia to take part in the four-day workshop next week.
As well as the mentors, there will be a series of talks and Q+A's with Liam Ivory (Maribou State), Miraa May, Nina Las Vegas, JGrrey, and Novelist.
Previous mentors include Stormzy, Lethal Bizzle, Ella Eyre, Little Simz, Dope St Jude, and Example.
