My Bloody Valentine warn fans of fraudulent Ebay auctions
My Bloody Valentine have cautioned fans from buying a vinyl copy of their new record for inflated prices on Ebay.
New album, mbv, finally dropped this month after 20 years in the making, seeing a shock release by the band online.
Such is the interest in the shoegaze group’s first album since 1991′s Loveless that many copies are being sold online for over £100.
However, the band warn fans about such sales – as they haven’t even shipped the records yet.
SPIN report that the record will begin to be shipped from 22 February.
The band themselves wrote on Facebook:
“There are a number of people on ebay trying to sell our album at greatly inflated prices, they do not have the album, and are, as such, selling a product that does not exist yet. please do not buy from these people. Our ship date for orders placed on our website is Feb 22nd. this is the date that finished stock will exist.”
